Leadership skills and management skills

[ad_1]

Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchardave provide an excellent definition of management and leadership in their book "Management Organizational Behaviour," which helps us to better understand leadership qualifications:

The layer is completing the organizational goals through people and teams.

· Regardless of goals, leadership can affect people's behavior.

John P. Kotter gives an interesting definition of interest in his article "What Leaders Really Do" (Harvard Business Review), presenting different insights into leadership skills:

· Management is about copying Complexity; it brings order and predictability to a certain situation. But this is not enough: To succeed, companies must be able to adapt to change.

· Leadership is about learning how to respond to rapid changes.

Differences between managers and leaders

Cottler elaborates on the three basic differences between leaders and managers:

1. Manager plan and budget. Leaders set the direction.
2. Manager organization and staff. Leaders adjust people by communicating their vision at all levels.
3. Managers provide control and problem solving. Leaders provide motivation and inspiration.

The difference between management and leadership

The distinction between management and leadership can be summarized briefly as follows:

• Management is the exercise of control. This is about planning, rewarding and mentoring personnel, training employees, maintaining systems and procedures, monitoring schedules, and fostering coordination among employees. The focus of management techniques is to ensure that the system is not interrupted and that the company is operating efficiently.

Leadership is about managing change. It is about formulating and communicating visions, motivating and empowering people, mentoring employees, thinking about possibilities, looking for opportunities, and fostering synergies between employees. The focus of leadership skills is to ensure that the company has direction or development.
