George has just come out of an extensive career at Raytheon for 28 years, working as a Systems Engineer in developing Tactical Radio Systems for the US Army & Marine Corps as well Training and Development in the Systems Engineering and Engineering organizations at the Space Airborne Systems division. In 2014, George transitioned from Raytheon to Dale Carnegie of Southern Los Angeles. He provides business performance consulting and training to organizations in the art of "Winning Friends and Influencing People" to ensure a highly engaged workforce. George is also the President of a non-profit educational resource center near UCLA, responsible for directing leadership programs in Southern California for high-school, college, and young professionals. Education: BS Electrical Engineering, Loyola Marymount University, 1986 MS Electrical Engineering, Loyola Marymount University, 1990 Certifications: Dale Carnegie: Effective Communications and Human Relations, 2014 Dale Carnegie: High Impact Presentations, 2015 You will learn how to mazimize your leadership skills learned in with The Toastmasters Program into the workplace: Club President – chief executive officer of the club, responsible for fulfilling the mission of the club; presides at meetings and club executive committee; appoints all committees and has general supervision of the club; transmits to the club for approval/disapproval all ideas and plans proposed by the Area & District Councils which may affect the club; and shall take no action binding upon the club without either specific prior authorization or subsequent ratification by this club. Vice President of Education – second ranking; responsible for planning, organizing and directing a club program which meets the educational needs of the members; chairs the Education Committee; serves as one of the club's representatives on the Area & District Councils; and shall take no action binding upon the club. Vice President of Membership – third ranking; responsible for planning, organizing and directing a program that ensures membership retention and growth; chairs Membership Committee; serves as one of the club's representatives on the Area & District Councils; and shall take no action binding upon the club. Vice President Public Relations – fourth ranking; responsible for developing and directing publicity program that informs individual members and others outside the club about Toastmasters; chairs the Public Relations Committee. Club Secretary – responsible for club records and correspondence; has custody of the club's Charter, Constitution, Bylaws and all other records and documents of the club; keeps an accurate record of the meetings and activities; maintains an accurate and complete roster of members and transmits the same to the successor in office; provides notices of meetings and immediately notifies World Headquarters of Toastmasters International of any change in the roster of members. Club Treasurer – responsible for financial policies, procedures and controls; receives and disburses, with the approval of the club, all club funds; pays to Toastmasters International all obligations as they come due; keeps an accurate account of all transactions; makes financial reports to the club and executive committee quarterly and upon request; shall transmit the accounts and all undistributed funds to the successor in office at the end of the term. Sergeant at Arms – responsible for club property management, meeting room preparation and hospitality; chairs the Social and Reception Committee.
