Getting the Business Ready for Investment
This seminar looks at what businesses can do from a legal perspective so that they are 'investment ready', including having in place an appropriate legal structure, a shareholders agreement, contractor and employee agreements, business and other licensing agreements, and appropriate intellectual property protection. Presented in collaboration with Hudson Gavin Martin Edwin Lim is a Partner, and Charlotte McLoughlin is a Special Counsel, at Hudson Gavin Martin, a boutique commercial and corporate law firm that specialises in technology, media and intellectual property. Ed and Charlotte advise businesses on intellectual property commercialisation and protection, company structuring and capital raising. They also assist investors to carry out legal due diligence on the businesses they propose to invest in. Following on the heels of the very popular Digital Marketing Series the ecentre presents a series of workshops on different aspects of funding and capital raising for entrepreneurs wanting to start a business or founders wanting investment to grow an existing startup and with global ambition. Expert speakers are chosen with knowledge and experience of the topic to provide insights and to answer questions. The purpose is to inform and support entrepreneurs, business founders and small business owners who are seeking to grow their business. These sessions also introduce participants to the support available through ecentre investor club, Massey University, ATEED, Callaghan Innovation, local business associations and the Microsoft BizSpark Programme. Spaces are limited so preference will be given to entrepreneurs exploring a business idea or who have recently started their own business. See our website for other seminars in this series on funding and then please select the ONE seminar that is most relevant to your needs.
