Our 10th Annual Family Connections Conference is an opportunity for local families affected by autism to come together to learn from and connect with one another.  The theme for this year's conference is Safety in the home, community and School. This year's keynote presenter is Dr. Jack Scott, Executive Director of FAU CARD Sessions will introduce participants to the importance of planning for personal safety in the home and community for individuals with ASD. Audience members will learn about programs, specific strategies and products to protect their child and raise awareness about issues that make children and adults with ASD more vulnerable. A Vendor Fair and Panel will provide tips for parents in dealing with elopement/wandering, water safety, natural disasters, first responders/fire rescue and law enforcement. Lunch is Sponsored by SafeTrax™.   Lunch will be provided by the Foodies4Autism Food Truck. Supervised Child Care! Supervised Child Care will be available for children with ASD between the ages of 7 and 18 of of age. SafeTrax™is developing solutions to solve personal safety and wandering issues for individuals with autism and Alzheimer's using the latest advances in technology.  Testing is currently underway with commercial availability expected sometime late Fall 2016.  Lunch will be provided by the Foodies4Autism Food Truck - a volunteer-based, vocational project in which students with autism learn basic employment on-the-job skills while mastering their social interactions.
