Paper Tourism in 2011, Level: The Advantages of Bournemouth University, Language: English, Abstract: Social networks originated from a man named Randy Conaras. In 1995, he created a website called Classmates.com, which is the world's largest online community (RedWeek, 2011). His main goal is to promote people to regain or maintain contact with school, college or university students. This network has become very popular and the creators have received many awards, such as the annual e-commerce report 2001 entrepreneurs (Andriyenko, 2011). Classmates.com is one of the top 15 most popular websites on the Internet, with 38 million members and 2 million visitors per day (RedWeek, 2011). Today, Randy Conrads is the co-founder (President and CEO) of RedWeek.com, an online market that connects travelers to time-shared communities (ibid.). In 1997 appeared sixthdegrees.com, which allows users to create a friend list, profile and send messages. In 2003, MySpace and Xing were established. But in 2004, the real phenomenon was Facebook (Andriyenko, 2011). This article will focus on my views on how to use social networking for travel marketing and analyze Facebook and Twitter in specific situations. (1718 words)
