How to be better at drawing:

1. Learn how to hold a pencil.

Place the pencil between the index finger and thumb and place it on the dominant hand. Try to take it from a quarter of the tip. For a basic drawing, you do not want to move the pencil closer to the tip, or you will not be able to move it to a sufficient position, while holding a pencil that is too far away will not control it. Keep enough loose grip to move your fingers, hands and wrists.

2. Practice basic skills

freehand drawing of basic shapes. Many of the things you draw basically consist of shapes such as circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, and triangles. Your art will combine these shapes in different ways to form images. Practice shadows. Fill out a 2cm box of UCreate drawing paper and number it. Leave the first piece blank and gently cover the first piece. When you continue with each new block, make it a darker shade until the last frame is black, creating a shaded gradient reference guide.

3. Draw what you see around you

The best way to improve your painting skills is to get back to basics! Find the normal object around you and start drawing it. Look at how light sources cast shadows on and around objects. You can know where the light source comes from, because the shadow will point in the opposite direction to the light, which will help you understand how to shade the object and merge the depths. Consider proportions and decompose the objects into the basic shapes you practiced before.
