Differences between Transactional Leadership and Transformational Leadership

Leadership is very important to a person and an organization. Without leadership, organizations (and individuals) are like a boat without a rudder. This will be goalless and will follow the flow of powerful forces in the organization.

However, leadership in the organization takes different forms. One way to look at it is through classified transactions and transformational leadership. The other is to look at formal and informal leaders. Formal positions and authority issues have little effect. Influence is the original force within the organization. Influential people do not need formal power to shift the balance of the organization to themselves.

Leaders with formal authority and leadership positions may simply use trading leadership for their subordinates and followers. This kind of leadership works in certain situations. Especially if the leader is in transition and does not have to spend too much time on the development of people under him. Trading leadership is not long-term. This is short-term. The keywords here are deals! The leader does not expect any "return business" from those dealing with him.

On the other hand, transformational leadership is a very different leader. It takes into account the motives and circumstances of subordinates and subordinates. It enables people to regain business and continuous improvement!

As a leader, are you willing to use short-term transactional leaders or long-term influential transformation leaders? Although I advocate the promotion of transformational leadership, the best leadership style depends on your situation and organizational goals.

An important question to ask at the time was how do you study the organizational context in order to understand the type of leadership that fits it? Ask your people. Is the morale in the organization good? Still full of complaints and complaints? Are people willing to become members of the organization? Or do they just wait for one salary after another?

You also need to look at the performance of the organization. You can evaluate your organization or even internal audits. In this way, you can assess the strengths and weaknesses of your organization. Based on this, you can make important decisions about the style of leadership that fits your organization.

There is no right or wrong leadership style in the organization. The important thing is how you use a leadership style to achieve your goal as a leader.
