My little treatment does not mean prosecution of any religion, nor worship of a religion or church belief. Whether attending or not participating in any particular church's advice.
That means I will express my personal pains bluntly: Our church in Nigeria is losing focus!
I remember those days when we used to attend Sunday school and even recently spent time with my family in the morning. The unity, equality, sacrifice, and selflessness of early Christians always seemed to be a theme in my mind. I remember the statement of a man and his wife who attempted to deceive the Christian coterie and claimed that they had bought everything they had to pay, but in fact they concealed a small part of themselves. Those of us who know this story will remember that it was God's punishment to take their lives.
- Hold on! -
My goal is not to eliminate untruthfulness and deception in the church, although it also exists (as in all areas of human interaction). But let our minds, the fact that early Christians had common wealth and possessions. In fact, everyone brings what they have and brings them together so that all people can be used wisely among Christians. Yes, I know what you are thinking, I agree with you, that is not today because it tends to make certain lazy members lazy, because no matter how much they contribute, they still have food and accommodation
- but this is not where I am going to use this -
Let's take a look at the "new generation" church, such as "XYZ Holy Assembly", a modest start from the member's garage. The church, then it won enough members, then moved to a rented place, and then more members quickly bought a former warehouse and reshaped it into this beautiful auditorium. At this time, the church pastor (now known as the "bishop") has written and published many audio and video recordings of church activities as well as many donations, promotions and one-tenth sales, and transformed this XYZ congregation into a profitable business. , There are millions of Nairas every month.
There are now about 2,000 members and it has decided to go on television. This brings more sources of income to the church because more and more people understand it and become members, others will also buy church products advertised on the screen. Soon, the XYZ San Francisco opened new branches in different states across the country, targeting young people and rapidly expanding their ranks. It rises rapidly and we all praise the Lord! .
- But some things are wrong, poor! -
On average, when church members join the church, they are still in the same economic and social status! The "bishop" of the church has been distorted by the young Jehovah who had just emerged from school and became a powerful (and wealthy) MOG (God's person) who had lived in magnanimity for the church members. In addition, he is now driving a Hummer, and his home has police protection. Do we see trends here?
Thanks to the monthly profit increase of this church and the obvious change of leader status, you will expect the same fate to meet with members. Let's do a little math here. If the church income at the end of each month reaches S$15 million (conservatively estimated to be a church like XYZ Holy Assembly!). There are now a total of 5,000 members. Then, it shows that according to the early Christian lifestyle, each member "permitted" to N3,000 monthly (before spending). is obviously not a very large number .
But as I said before, I will not canvass churches and give monthly pay packages to their members.
- It goes without saying to me! -
Obviously, the monthly issuance of S$3,000 to members will not significantly change their economic status. Until now, they have not survived. But Is it worthy of praise if the church decides to take humanitarian work to achieve social change in its environment?
- The church can select five children from its members and sponsor their education during that year.
- The church can provide additional lessons for children free of charge.
- The church can examine the situation of some less able members and set up small businesses for them.
- The church can provide free feeding (also agberos) for children in the street.
- Churches can provide workers with free daily transportation to major business districts. (I can continue, I do not even work hard)
Are we stopping God from blessing others because we do not want to admit what we face?
In addition to the salvation of the Gospel, Jesus "other actions are essentially human. We should practise our love, not just shouting from the podium. Love is more powerful than an expert . [19659002] As the last observation, you ! As a priest of the XYZ congregation, you do not think that you will kill the morale of your members by showing off so much wealth in front of them (rather than talking about faith) Isn't it a God to accumulate such wealth for yourself? What might you need to do with this money?
What about the police protection? Who can protect myself? I certainly hope that it is not a faithful member of the XYZ congregation.
